Given the current inclement weather conditions and projections for the next two days, Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. (Grenlec) is reminding customers that preparation can save lives and minimise damage to property.
As we continue to be prepared, please ensure you have an emergency kit containing batteries and battery and solar powered radios, lights and chargers, fully charge your mobile phones and secure your important documents and emergency kit items in portable waterproof bags. Familiarise yourself with the location of your electricity breaker switch and check your generator, making sure it will not feed electricity to Grenlec’s lines. Also identify the emergency shelter/s closest to you.
We also advise that there is a potential for unplanned electricity outages with rainy and windy conditions as well as land slippages.
To ensure that our team is aware of your outage, where possible, please use the Grenlec Mobile App to report a fault or contact our 24-hr. Emergency Fault Line by calling 237 and selecting option 1.
Please be assured that our crews will respond to restore service when it is safe to do so and in accordance with Grenlec’s Emergency Protocol.
Please continue to monitor the official media for updates.
We urge all of our customers to take the necessary precautions to keep you and your family safe.
