The Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. (Grenlec) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Leroy A. E. Abraham as Grenlec’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective Tuesday 1st October 2024.
Mr. Abraham holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Northeastern University of Boston.
He has an impressive track record of leadership, innovation and strategic development having served for 37 years at the BVI Electricity Corporation where he held the positions of Operations Engineer – Distribution Department (1993 to 1996); Distribution Engineer (1996 to 2000) and Chief Executive Officer (2000 to 2023). As CEO, he led the development of the Corporation’s strategic plan and devised network expansion plans to meet the Territory’s expected energy requirements. Additionally, he served as the Chief Advisor to the Government of the Virgin Islands (UK) on all electricity related matters and implemented the Territory’s renewable energy transition to include the newly hybrid renewable system on the island of Anegada.
Mr. Abraham is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, Chartered Director and a Former Chairman of the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC).
