As part of Grenlec’s ongoing efforts to promote public safety and reduce tree related outages, it is seeking the support of the public in its efforts to manage vegetation growth near power lines.
The Company’s ongoing Vegetation Management Programme is aimed at removing vegetation growing on or near its infrastructure and trimming tree branches encroaching on power lines.
This proactive approach helps prevent interruptions to you, our valued customers, and reduces the danger of accidental contact with energised lines when customers cut trees or climb them for fruits and kites.
Overhanging branches can cause outages and damage the electricity system when they fall or come in contact with power lines. Customers can also help reduce electricity service interruptions by keeping their trees trimmed to prevent them growing into or close to power lines.
We invite customers to help us maintain electricity reliability by cooperating with our tree trimming crews and by keeping their vegetation trimmed and away from power lines.
Please report vegetation that is growing into or in close proximity power lines to Grenlec via the Mobile App or calling 237.
