Friday, 22 March 2019: In the last quarter of 2018, Grenlec launched its “Give A Wish” promotion inviting customers to nominate someone or a cause to receive a gift from Grenlec. Thousands of nominations were made via Grenlec’s online platform and in-store boxes.
Fifteen winners were randomly selected to receive a wish of their choice, valued at up to $1,500. One of the wish recipients was the Top Hill Senior Citizen’s Home in Carriacou. Their wish for pampers and gloves was granted on Friday, 8 March 2018. Fourteen other wishes for stoves, refrigerators, beds, groceries, a weed eater and utility bill payments were granted by various Grenlec team members, who visited with recipients throughout the country.
Grenlec is thankful for the participation of so many customers, who demonstrated their generosity by naming someone else to receive assistance. Expressing appreciation in a letter to Grenlec, one of the nominees said, the “support could not have come at a better time due to the many challenges [faced]”.
Prudence Greenidge, Corporate Communications Manager of Grenlec thanked customers for partnering with the Company to identify people who were deserving of a gift. She added, “the management and staff at Grenlec are grateful that you assisted us in bringing smiles to so many faces. We have presented the wishes as New Year’s gifts to people who have all been exceedingly thankful that you took the time to think about them”. She also thanked Courts Grenada Ltd and Antoine’s Wood Work for their partnership in this promotion.
The customers who nominated the winners of the fifteen wishes received $500 electricity vouchers and an additional 230 Grenlec customers received $75 electricity vouchers.
