The Grenlec Debates are back for another season, with students and coaches from 18 secondary schools preparing for the first round of competition later this month.
In the lead-up to this year’s debates, students and coaches participated in an orientation and training session for debaters and coaches on Friday, 4 September.
The training focused on the impromptu format, research, argument development and presentation skills. It also gave students and coaches an opportunity to clarify questions ahead of the preliminaries.
Grenlec is grateful for the continued partnership with schools, educators, parents, students, members of the private and public sectors and the public since the Debates started in 2008.
The Grenlec Debates allows students to research, develop and present a range of perspectives on issues affecting our communities and the wider world.
The Preliminary Round of the 2026 Grenlec Debates begins 21 September.
