Monday, 22 October 2018:  The quarter finals of the Grenlec Debates will take place on 23 October, 2018 where eight secondary schools will meet to explore the theme “Litter and Our Environment”.  Following is the match schedule of the Quarter Final round.

Government’s recent press release on Grenlec’s GCPI funding is misleading and inaccurate.

Wednesday, 27 February 2018 — The Government of Grenada’s press release last week incorrectly states that the Grenlec Community Partnership Initiative (GCPI) has been funded as a direct “pass through” charge to Grenadian consumers. This is totally false.

Tuesday, 13 February 2018: Grenlec is challenging the constitutionality of Government’s newly-legislated five percent (5%) “Social Fund” levied solely on the Company. On Monday, 12 February 2018, Grenlec filed a lawsuit to protect the rights of its nearly 1600 shareholders.

Grenlec is strongly objecting to legislation proposed by the Government of Grenada requiring the Company to pay five percent (5%) of Grenlec’s pre-tax profits to a Government-controlled “Social Fund” controlled by the Minister and a Minister-appointed committee.
